Zapiekanki — a delightful Polish pork dish.

Ingredients
- 2 pcs baguette
- 1 g butter
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 g onions
- 300 g mushrooms
- 1 pcs garlic
- 1 g mayonnaise
- 50 g cheddar cheese
- 75 g ham
- 75 g polish kabanos
- 50 g mozzarella
- 2 pcs dill
- 1 tbsp chives
- 1 pcs drizzle tomato ketchup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200C/180C fan/gas mark 6.
- Place the baguettes on a baking tray and bake for 8-10 minutes.
- Allow the baguettes to cool down.
- In a pan, melt 2 teaspoons of butter and 1 teaspoon of oil over low heat.
- Sauté the chopped onion in the pan for 5 minutes until it becomes tender.
- Add the mushrooms to the pan.
- Increase the heat to medium.
- Cook the mushrooms for 5-10 minutes until they are soft and the liquid has evaporated.
- Incorporate the garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until softened.
- Add seasoning to the mixture.
- Mix in the mayonnaise and take the pan off the heat.
- Slice the baguettes in half lengthwise.
- Place the halved baguettes back on the baking tray with the cut sides facing up.
- Spread the mushroom mixture evenly over the baguettes.
- Top with cheddar, ham, kabanos, and mozzarella.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.
- In the meantime, heat the remaining butter and oil in another pan over medium heat.
- Fry the sliced onions for 5 minutes until they are golden and soft.
- Take the fried onions off the heat and set them aside.
- Once the pizzas are ready, add the caramelised onions on top.
- Finish with dill pickles (if desired), chives, and a drizzle of ketchup in a zig-zag pattern.
