- 1 g yeast
- 0.75 g salt
- 0.25 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 pcs eggs
- 1 pcs eggs
- 1 ml milk
- 3 cup all purpose flour
- 2 cup all purpose flour
- 1 ml water
Instructions
- Combine 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons semolina, 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
- Whisk in the oil, the whole egg, and the egg white until the mixture is incorporated.
- Gradually add the warm milk, stirring until a loose, liquid dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with a plate or plastic wrap and let sit at room temperature until frothy, about 1 hour.
- Using a wooden spoon, stir in 2 3/4 cups flour until a sticky dough comes together.
- Cover the dough again and allow it to rest for 30 minutes.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a baking mat.
- Dust the dough and your hands with 1 tablespoon flour, then work the dough, adding flour 1 tablespoon at a time as needed, until it pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
- Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
- Loosely cover with a towel and let the loaf rise in a warm place until it has doubled in volume, about 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Whisk the egg yolk with the water using a fork, brush the mixture over the entire surface of the loaf, and sprinkle 1 tablespoon sesame seeds on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven until the loaf is golden brown, about 20 to 25 minutes.
