Ingredients
- 450 g flour
- 500 ml greek yogurt
- 0.5 g salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 pcs splash olive oil
Instructions
- On a large baking sheet or a clean work surface, combine the dry ingredients—flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Form a well in the center of the dry mixture and pour in the yogurt.
- Use your hands to gradually incorporate the yogurt into the dry ingredients until a dough starts to come together.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for a few minutes, adding more flour if it’s overly sticky, until it has a pizza-dough-like texture but remains just slightly tacky.
- Brush a baking tray lightly with oil and set the dough on top.
- Form and press the dough into a round disk roughly 5 cm tall.
- Coat the entire surface of the dough with olive oil, either by brushing or rubbing it on.
- If you like, create decorative indentations to promote even baking by pressing the back of a fork across the surface or by piercing it with the tines.
- Preheat the oven.
- Put the tray on the lowest oven rack and bake for about 40 minutes, or until the bread is golden and feels firm when pressed.
- Take the Kulaç out of the oven and either prop it upright or transfer it to a wire rack to cool.
- Slice the Kulaç into eight pieces to serve, or if you prefer it warm, tear it apart by hand instead of cutting.
