  1. Prepare an 8-inch-square baking dish by lining it with wax paper or foil.
  2. Apply non-stick cooking spray to the lined baking dish.
  3. Place ½ cup of the miniature marshmallows at the bottom of the lined dish.
  4. In a bowl suitable for the microwave, mix the chocolate chips and peanut butter.
  5. Heat the chocolate mixture in the microwave for 20 seconds at a time, stirring after each interval, until fully melted.
  6. Incorporate the vanilla extract into the melted chocolate mixture.
  7. Mix the combination thoroughly until it reaches a smooth consistency.
  8. Set aside 2 tablespoons of the chopped almonds or peanuts.
  9. Gently fold 1 ½ cups of miniature marshmallows and the remaining chopped nuts into the chocolate mixture.
  10. Pour the chocolate mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  11. Evenly spread the chocolate mixture across the dish.
  12. Top the mixture right away with the reserved chopped nuts.
  13. If desired, sprinkle mallow bits or extra miniature marshmallows on top.
  14. Chill in the refrigerator for 4 hours, or until the fudge is firm.
  15. Take the fudge along with the wax paper out of the pan.
  16. Gently remove all the wax paper from the fudge.
  17. Cut the fudge into small bite-sized squares.
  18. Enjoy serving the fudge.
