  1. Collect all the necessary ingredients for the pea stew.
  2. Wash the peas with cold water and then drain them.
  3. Finely dice the onion and garlic.
  4. In a sizable pot, warm some oil over medium heat.
  5. Add the diced onion and garlic into the pot.
  6. Cook the onion and garlic until they become soft and clear.
  7. Incorporate the washed peas into the pot.
  8. Add enough water or vegetable broth to fully submerge the peas.
  9. Season with salt, pepper, and any additional spices you prefer.
  10. Bring the contents to a boil.
  11. Lower the heat and allow it to simmer for around 20-30 minutes.
  12. Test the peas for doneness and modify the seasoning if needed.
  13. After cooking, take it off the heat.
  14. Dish out the pea stew while it’s hot.
