Naan Bread

  1. In a bowl, combine 1 teaspoon onion seeds, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1 teaspoon salt with 500g self-raising flour.
  2. In another bowl, mix 1 egg, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 200ml warm full-fat milk, 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt, and 2 tablespoons olive oil.
  3. Gradually add the liquid mixture to the dry mixture in thirds, mixing until combined.
  4. Knead the dough for 5 minutes, then oil the dough and let it rise for 1-2 hours. You can freeze it at this stage if desired.
  5. Lightly flour a surface, knead the dough again, and shape it into a log.
  6. Divide the log into 4-6 equal pieces. Lightly flour each piece and press it into a teardrop shape with a rolling pin, about 3mm thick.
  7. Dab with water
  8. Preheat a cast iron skillet on medium heat and cook the naan until golden brown on both sides.
