Instructions

  1. Combine the butter and sugar in a bowl until the mixture becomes creamy.
  2. Incorporate the oil, flour, and semolina, then mix them together.
  3. Pour in the warm milk and mix gently without over-kneading.
  4. Cover the mixture and let it rest for an hour or less while you prepare the filling.
  5. Toast some sesame seeds in a frying pan.
  6. Once the sesame is toasted, add butter to the pan.
  7. Stir in the date paste, ensuring it blends well with the sesame and butter.
  8. Add a small amount of water to achieve a soft consistency, being careful not to make it too runny.
  9. Remove the filling from the pan and transfer it to a plate to allow it to cool.
  10. Form the cooled filling into balls, each weighing 15 grams.
  11. Place the date filling in the refrigerator for half an hour.
  12. Go back to the dough and shape it into balls of 30 grams each.
  13. Take the chilled date filling out of the refrigerator.
  14. Stuff each dough ball with a piece of the date filling.
  15. Use a mamoul mold to shape the stuffed dough balls.
  16. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes, or until they are golden brown on the bottom and slightly golden on top.
