- 200 g semolina
- 25 pcs sunflower oil
- 250 g butter
- 50 ml milk
- 60 g icing sugar
Instructions
- Combine the butter and sugar in a bowl until the mixture becomes creamy.
- Incorporate the oil, flour, and semolina, then mix them together.
- Pour in the warm milk and mix gently without over-kneading.
- Cover the mixture and let it rest for an hour or less while you prepare the filling.
- Toast some sesame seeds in a frying pan.
- Once the sesame is toasted, add butter to the pan.
- Stir in the date paste, ensuring it blends well with the sesame and butter.
- Add a small amount of water to achieve a soft consistency, being careful not to make it too runny.
- Remove the filling from the pan and transfer it to a plate to allow it to cool.
- Form the cooled filling into balls, each weighing 15 grams.
- Place the date filling in the refrigerator for half an hour.
- Go back to the dough and shape it into balls of 30 grams each.
- Take the chilled date filling out of the refrigerator.
- Stuff each dough ball with a piece of the date filling.
- Use a mamoul mold to shape the stuffed dough balls.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes, or until they are golden brown on the bottom and slightly golden on top.
