Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs
A tangy, savory ribs dish featuring spare ribs browned in fat, simmered with pickles brine and a mustard-sugar glaze, finished in the oven.

Ingredients
- 1000 g spare ribs
- 6 tsp brown sugar
- 0.5 cup vinegar
- 1 tsp mustard
- 3 tsp flour
Instructions
- Heat a frying pan and add oil.
- Flour the ribs and brown them in the pan.
- Sprinkle the browned ribs with salt and pepper.
- Add the pickles and brine, cook for a further 5 minutes.
- Mix mustard, brown sugar, and flour with a little water, add vinegar, and stir into the ribs.
- Cook the mixture for 5 minutes.
- Place the ribs in a covered casserole dish.
- Bake at175°C (350°F) for 1 hour.
