Ingredients
- 200 g butter
- 200 g sugar
- 250 cup all purpose flour
- 1 g salt
- 200 g dulce de leche
- 75 pcs dark chocolate
- 1 pcs beaten egg
Instructions
- Set the oven to preheat at 180°C/350°F on the conventional setting.
- Put the softened butter and sugar into the bowl of a stand mixer and whisk until smooth and creamy.
- Add the flour and salt to the bowl, combine the ingredients and knead by hand until a smooth dough forms.
- Split the dough into two equal portions.
- Line the base of a square or round cake tin (do not use a springform tin) with baking parchment.
- Press the first portion of pastry into the prepared tin and use your fingers and a spoon to level it into an even base.
- Spoon small dollops of dulce de leche evenly over the pastry base using a teaspoon, then sprinkle over the chopped chocolate.
- Place the second portion of pastry over the filling and gently press the edges together to seal.
- Whisk an egg in a small bowl and brush the top of the pastry with the beaten egg.
- Bake for about 30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown; it may still be slightly wobbly when hot.
- Allow the baked pastry to cool completely (it will firm up as it cools), then cut into small pieces to serve.
