  2. Cut the peeled oranges into very thin slices.
  3. Place the sliced oranges neatly on a dinner plate.
  4. Add a sprinkle of demerara sugar over the orange slices.
  5. Drizzle Grand Marnier on top of the oranges.
  6. Set the plate of oranges aside for later use.
  7. Break the Christmas pudding into large chunks.
  8. Spread the crumbled Christmas pudding at the bottom of a trifle bowl.
  9. Carefully layer the oranges on top of the pudding.
  10. Pour any juices released from the oranges over the pudding layer.
  11. Whip the mascarpone until it reaches a smooth consistency.
  12. Incorporate the custard into the whipped mascarpone.
  13. Dollop the mascarpone and custard blend over the oranges.
  14. Gently whip the cream until it achieves a light texture.
  15. Spread the whipped cream over the custard layer.
  16. Garnish the dessert with flaked almonds.
  17. Grate some chocolate on top of the dessert.
  18. Refrigerate the dessert until it's time to serve.
