BeaverTails — a delightful Canadian treat.

Ingredients
- 0.5 ml water
- 2 g yeast
- 0.5 g sugar
- 0.5 ml milk
- 6 g butter
- 2 pcs eggs
- 1 g salt
- 2 g flour
- 1 g oil
- 1 pcs lemon
- 1 g sugar
- 1 g cinnamon
Instructions
- In the mixing bowl of a stand mixer, combine warm water, a generous pinch of sugar, and yeast.
- Let the mixture rest until it becomes frothy.
- To the same bowl, incorporate 1/2 cup of sugar, warm milk, melted butter, eggs, and salt.
- Mix the ingredients together until they are well blended.
- Attach the dough hook to the mixer.
- While the mixer is running, gradually add the flour until you achieve a smooth yet slightly sticky dough.
- Transfer the dough into a bowl.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
- Let the dough rise for 1 1/2 hours.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal portions.
- Shape each piece into long oval forms, approximately 1/4 inch thick.
- In a large, deep pot, heat oil to 350 degrees.
- Carefully lower the beavertail dough into the heated oil.
- Fry each side for 30 to 45 seconds until they turn golden brown.
- Place the beavertails on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Add toppings as desired.
- Coat in cinnamon sugar, sprinkle with white sugar and a squeeze of lemon, or spread with Nutella and toasted almonds.
