Stamppot
Stamppot is a traditional Dutch dish featuring tender pork, celebrated for its comforting and hearty flavors.

Ingredients
- 1.5 g potatoes
- 2 pcs bay leaf
- 2 pcs shallots
- 3 g butter
- 750 g kale
- 2 pcs sausages
- 500 ml milk
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 g salt
- 1 g peppers
Instructions
- Clean and peel the potatoes.
- Chop the potatoes into evenly sized chunks.
- In a large pot, bring salted water, potatoes, and bay leaves to a boil for 20 minutes.
- Remove and discard the bay leaves.
- If using whole curly kale, rinse the bunches thoroughly under cool running water.
- Eliminate any tough stems and throw away any discolored leaves from the kale.
- Slice the curly kale into thin strips using a sharp knife.
- Peel and dice the shallots.
- In a frying pan or skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Cook the shallots for a few minutes until softened.
- Incorporate the curly kale and 2 tablespoons of water into the skillet.
- Season the mixture of kale and shallots.
- Cook for approximately 10 minutes, or until the kale becomes tender.
- Heat the milk either on the stove or in the microwave until warm.
- Drain the potatoes and let them sit to remove excess water.
- Use kitchen towels to dry the potatoes.
- Mash the potatoes using a potato masher or ricer.
- Quickly incorporate the warm milk and any remaining butter into the mashed potatoes.
- Season the mashed potatoes with nutmeg, salt, and pepper to your liking.
- Fold the cooked curly kale into the mashed potato blend.
- Garnish the mixture with slices of smoked sausage.
- Serve hot alongside your preferred mustard or gravy.
