- 4 pcs eggs
- 200 g sugar
- 200 g self-raising flour
- 200 g butter
- 1 ml vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 3 pcs apples
- 1 g salt
- 1 g sugar
Instructions
- Begin by preheating your oven to 180°C (350˚F).
- Prepare a cake pan by greasing it and lining it with baking parchment.
- In a spacious bowl, crack the four eggs and combine them with the sugar.
- Whip the egg and sugar mixture until it has significantly increased in volume and is fluffy.
- Sift the self-rising flour.
- Incorporate the sifted flour into the egg mixture.
- Gently fold the flour into the egg mixture, taking care to retain as much air as possible.
- Stir in the melted butter, making sure it has cooled slightly.
- Blend until everything is well combined.
- Add cinnamon, a small pinch of salt, and vanilla extract to the batter.
- Chop the apple and mix it into the batter.
- Carefully fold the apple pieces into the batter to ensure they are evenly distributed.
- If desired, coat the apple pieces in a little extra cinnamon.
- Transfer the batter into the prepared cake pan.
- Use a spatula to level the surface of the batter.
- Arrange the apple slices on top of the batter and press them down gently.
- If you like, sprinkle almond slivers on top.
- Bake the apple cake in the heated oven for approximately 45-50 minutes.
- Insert a wooden skewer into the center of the cake to check for doneness; it should come out clean.
- Take the cake out of the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for a few minutes.
- Carefully take the cake out of the pan.
- Place the cake on a wire rack and let it cool completely.
- Dust the cooled apple cake with powdered sugar.
