A simple recipe for chocolate chip cookies. Try to use decent chocolate, not Cadbury's, to avoid giving teenagers spots

Easy Chocolate Cookies

  1. Heat oven to 180C and line a tray with baking paper.
  2. Mix the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla.
  3. Stir in the flour, bicarbonate of soda, chocolate and a pinch of salt.
  4. Split into 8 even balls, making sure they don't touch when they melt and spreadout.
  5. Cook for 10-15 mins until hard on the outside. Allow to cool for 10 minutes if you can, they taste much better with a bit of a crunch.
