Irene's Cottage Pie

  1. Peel and boil 8 large potatoes. Cook them until they slide off a fork.
  2. While the potatoes are cooking, dice 4 brown onions, 4 cloves of garlic. Brown 750g of minced beef mixed with a beef oxo cube in a frying pan. when browned, add the chopped onions and garlic. Cook until onions are soft. Add oregano, sweetcorn, peas and a teaspoon of Maggies sauce plus a teaspoon of Lee & Perins sauce.
  3. Mash the potatoes with a tablespoon of butter and a dash of milk. Finally add the minced beef and vegetables into a deep casserole pot. Cover with the mashed potatoes. Finally grate some cheddar cheese on top and grill for 10 minutes until the cheese starts to bubble and lightly brown.
