Ingredients
- 500 g beef
- 1 pcs cabbage
- 2 tbsp paprika
- 3 ml tomato puree
- 2 g red pepper
- 1 g onions
- 0.25 g chilli flakes
- 1 g salt
- 1 g peppers
- 1 pcs splash olive oil
- 1 l boiling water
Instructions
- Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a lidded sauté pan or saucepan over medium-high heat.
- Add the onions, diced beef and red peppers to the hot oil and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes until the meat is fully browned.
- Stir in the paprika, tomato purée, chilli flakes and salt and pepper; combine and continue to fry for 2 minutes.
- Add the cabbage and stir to incorporate, then fry, stirring from time to time for 3–5 minutes until most of the oil has cooked off.
- Bring a kettle or a separate pot of water to the boil.
- Pour the boiling water into the pan so the liquid completely covers the cabbage and comes about 1 inch above it.
- Put the lid on the pan and bring the contents up to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to a low simmer, cover, and cook for 2½ hours, until the cabbage is soft and the meat is tender.
- Ladle the stew into wide bowls and allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
